The City of Sydney, one of Australia’s premier Councils has an exciting opportunity for a parks professional to work as part of our Parks Assets and Services Team.

Reporting to the Parks Assets and Services Manager, you will assist in managing our parks and open space program. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outcomes focused person to lead Parks Program Management to deliver high quality parks projects and assets, manage a specialised team, efficiently plan future upgrade programs and implement procedures and policy improvements.

The primary responsibilities of the role are:

· to effectively coordinate and lead the day-to-day operations of a specialised small team and implement work systems, procedures and policies that enable the optimum performance and management of park projects, assets, staff and other internal and external stakeholders in line with the City’s Sustainable Sydney 2030 vision and Greening Sydney Plan
· to deliver and manage high quality program and project management outcomes achieving time, quality and value for money objectives for the City’s parks and open spaces.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in landscape architecture or design, project management, and an understanding of the objectives required in managing park projects and assets. You will also have experience in managing staff and a keen eye for detail, and a passion for working with people to deliver results.

Experience in managing finances is highly desirable.
